Working to Prevent Breast Cancer with BCPP
It’s officially Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we're excited to be partnering with Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (BCPP) again. For the past 30 years, BCPP has been the leading science-based policy and advocacy organization working to eliminate exposure to toxic chemicals and other environmental exposures linked to breast cancer. One of the only nonprofits of its kind, this national nonprofit engages with high-risk communities, translates science into educational action, encourages businesses to create safer products and lobbies to pass health-protective laws.
Join us at the Peak Hike for Prevention on October 15, at the scenic Marin Headlands (Point Bonita YMCA) just north of San Francisco. Hike the 6.5-mile trail to honor loved ones affected by breast cancer and protect our communities and future generations from the disease. You can attend in-person or walk virtually to support BCPP’s mission. If in-person, stop by our booth at the finish line to learn more about Everviolet, receive amazing goodies and be eligible to win special giveaways. Register or donate by visiting the link here.
If you’re not available on October 15, no worries! Everviolet will be donating to BCPP throughout the entire month of October. For every Vela Wireless Bra and Brazilian Panty sold, we’ll donate 10% to this important organization. Support their cause, spread the word and shop our collection today!
The Hard Truth
Today, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. 1 in 3 of those women will become metastatic, and 90% of these cases will not be associated with genetics. These numbers impact not just those who receive diagnoses but their families, friends and colleagues as well.
BCPP strives to eliminate the environmental and chemical risk factors linked to this wide-spread disease. They also understand and advocate that all people need access to healthy food and safer, nontoxic personal care and household products. We’re partnering with them with the hope that together, we can eventually prevent breast cancer before it starts.
